Referees along with coaches are an important part of the community of people needed for youth soccer in Loveland. LYSA is always in need of new referees
BEING AN LYSA REFEREE IS EASY
2 Classes to Prepare You
1. Mandatory Classroom Session
All LYSA Referees are required to attend a Referee Class to obtain a SAY Referee License. LYSA holds a referee class each season to teach the soccer rules that our referees need to know. The class includes both in-class and on-field instruction. Attendees are required to successfully pass a test at the end of the class to demonstrate proficiency in the rules of soccer.
2. On-Field Class
Referees will work with actual teams in a practice environment to apply classroom knowledge under real game conditions

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING
Many current and former players become referees or referee while they are still playing soccer. LYSA will schedule around your soccer schedule or other activities.
MENTORING FOR NEW REFEREES
LYSA provides a mentoring program for new referees in which each new referee is paired with an experienced referee for at least their first game or until they feel comfortable and confident without the partnership. Just as we have a robust program to support our players, we want to provide the resources to set-up our referees for success
